Lebanese MP: No One Can Disarm Hezbollah
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Russia Today, Hezbollah representative Ali Ammar spoke out against the government’s decision to restrict weapons exclusively to the army. He stated, “No one but God will take Hezbollah’s weapons from us.”
With this statement, Ammar firmly rejected any attempts to disarm Hezbollah.
Army Presence in Southern Beirut Suburbs
The news outlet also reported that Lebanese army forces have deployed at entrances to the southern suburbs of Beirut,known as Hezbollah’s stronghold.This move follows the government’s decision to exercise control over arms within the country.
Street Protests
Meanwhile, supporters of both Hezbollah adn the Amal Movement held demonstrations in Beirut opposing the government directive granting official armed forces exclusive control over weapons.
