Massive Lebanese Protests Oppose Hezbollah Disarmament Plan
Thousands of Lebanese citizens condemned the government’s plan to disarm Hezbollah during protests held tonight.
The English section of webangah News Agency reports, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, that supporters of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement gathered in Beirut to express their opposition to the government’s decision to monopolize arms under official military forces.
The demonstrations come in response to the Lebanese government’s move to control weapons across the country,coinciding with the deployment of Lebanese army troops at entrances to Beirut’s southern suburbs,known as Hezbollah’s main stronghold.
