Italian Ship “Life Support” Joins Global Samoud Fleet
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Palestinian Data center, Italian NGO Emergency is preparing to send its large search and rescue ship, Life Support, to join the global Freedom Flotilla.
This organization is the largest humanitarian entity openly supporting this fleet. Founded in 1994, Emergency serves as a United Nations consultant and European Union partner in delivering humanitarian aid and disaster response. To date, it has provided medical services to over 12 million people across 20 countries.
Emergency reports that Life Support will monitor fleet missions while offering medical and logistical support for participating vessels. The ship is currently anchored at Catania port in Sicily and is expected to join other ships within a few days.
Measuring 51 meters long-more than twice the size of the fleet’s main vessel, Family-Life Support operates rescuing migrants in the Mediterranean Sea. Since December 2022,it has completed 36 missions and saved over 3,000 people.
