Hamas Delegation Led by Zaher Jabareen Travels to Egypt

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing ​Mehr News Agency, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported that a senior ‍delegation from ​Hamas made a secret⁣ visit to Cairo today, Saturday,⁤ at​ the invitation of Egyptian‌ intelligence.

The delegation included⁤ several members of ⁤Hamas’s political bureau and was led‍ by zaher Jabarin, the movement’s head in the West Bank.

Al-Araby Al-Jadeed added that‍ talks between the Hamas delegation and Egyptian officials will ​focus on issues raised by Steve Whitkau, the U.S. envoy to the Middle East.

This ⁢visit comes ⁤amid recent Israeli military strikes targeting residential towers in Gaza.

Earlier today,during a press conference with Philippe Lazzarini,Egyptian Foreign minister Sameh Shoukry called​ on Israel to agree to a ceasefire.

He described Israel as an obstacle to ⁣achieving⁣ a⁣ truce.

previously,‌ Foreign Minister Sameh⁤ Shoukry had consulted with ‍Whitkau over the phone about recent developments in Gaza.
