Lebanese Resistance Demands Israel Cease Aggression and Withdraw
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al-Akhbar news, the Deputy chairman of Lebanon’s Supreme islamic Shiite Council emphasized that Lebanon’s resistance community cannot accept anything less than a complete halt to Israeli aggression and withdrawal, followed by discussions on defense strategy.
Sheikh Ali Al-khatib added that the current Lebanese government and its allies do not intend to defend the homeland or fulfill their national responsibilities. Instead, they seek to create divisions between the army and the resistance.
He stated, “I hope Lebanon’s Prime Minister reconsiders this dangerous and mistaken decision [to disarm the resistance] and does not turn a battle with Israel into a conflict among Lebanese themselves.”
This statement comes as Mahmoud Qomati, Deputy Chairman of Hezbollah’s Political Council, warned in a television interview today that he is prepared for war with Israel if it is forced upon them. He cautioned that implementing a plan to disarm the resistance would trigger a humanitarian tsunami.
