Film “Sout Hind Rajab” Wins Silver Lion at Venice Film Festival
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera Qatar, the feature film Hind Rajab’s Voice received the prestigious Silver Lion award at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.
This festival, one of the world’s most notable cinematic events, was held this year with participation from prominent international directors and artists.
The film by acclaimed Tunisian director Kawthar Ben Hania premiered at the 79th Venice International Film Festival and competed for the Golden Lion in the main competition category.
This documentary-drama narrates the tragic story of Hind Rajab, a six-year-old Palestinian girl who was martyred during an Israeli military attack on Gaza. The film reconstructs her final moments: after her family members were killed in an airstrike, she became trapped in a destroyed vehicle. She contacted Palestine’s Red Crescent by phone seeking help-a call that lasted over an hour. When an ambulance was dispatched for rescue, it came under direct attack killing medical personnel. ultimately, Hind Rajab was fatally shot by Israeli soldiers.
