Medvedev Launches Sharp Attack on Pro-Ukraine “Keen Coalition
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Secretary of Russia’s Security Council, called the coalition known as the “Enthusiasts,” who gathered last Thursday in Paris to draft security guarantees for Ukraine, a “nonsense” group.
In a video posted on the social media platform X, Medvedev described the coalition’s meeting and activities as “pure nonsense.” He added bluntly, “Simply put, it’s all rubbish.”
Medvedev continued: “They come together to discuss what kind of security guarantees Ukraine should receive. But in reality, they just fabricate things out of thin air and pull ideas from everywhere to present as guarantees. This won’t lead anywhere!”
On Friday,Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that Western forces deployed to Ukraine would be considered legitimate targets by Russian troops. This statement came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky suggested that thousands of peacekeepers could be stationed in Ukraine following a potential ceasefire.
Earlier on Thursday, Medvedev stated that Russia would retaliate against Britain’s move to use Moscow’s frozen assets to support Ukraine by seizing British properties and assets located in both Russia and Ukraine.
The former Russian president also insulted British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, calling him an “English idiot.”
