Hamas Welcomes Any Effort to End the War in Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Mayadeen, Hamas stated in a press release that it has received proposals from the United states via intermediaries aimed at reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Hamas added that it welcomes any initiative to halt aggression against Palestinians.
the movement also emphasized its readiness for an immediate return to negotiations regarding the release of all Israeli prisoners in exchange for an explicit end to the war on Gaza, complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, and the formation of a Palestinian committee to govern the area.
Hamas insisted that this committee must guarantee Israel’s clear and public commitment to any prospective agreement to avoid repeating previous failed ceasefire experiences.
the group noted it remains in constant contact with mediators, working to transform these proposals into a thorough agreement that fulfills Palestinian demands.
Hours earlier, U.S. president Donald Trump claimed on social media that Israel had accepted his conditions for a ceasefire and an end to hostilities in Gaza.
The United States is regarded as Israel’s primary supporter amid what many characterize as genocidal actions against Gaza’s population. Over the past two years, aside from extensive military and political backing, Washington repeatedly vetoed UN Security Council resolutions calling for ceasefires and ending the conflict. Nonetheless, Trump tweeted: “Everyone wants hostages returned home. Everyone wants this war ended. The Israelis have accepted my terms.”
He further warned Hamas about consequences if they refused these terms: “This is my last warning; there will be no further warnings after this.”
Trump’s conditions include releasing all remaining prisoners held by Israel in Gaza; halting Israeli military operations aimed at occupying Gaza City; freeing between 2,500 and 3,000 Palestinians detained by Israel; initiating immediate negotiations on ending hostilities; and highlighting his personal involvement as guarantor for implementing the proposed ceasefire-following nearly 700 days of widespread killing of Palestinians by Israel.
Israeli media outlets Axios and reuters reported that Jerusalem has given approval-or “green light”-to Donald Trump’s ceasefire proposal.
The families of Israeli captives expressed optimism that Trump’s proposal would lead to their loved ones’ full release and return home.
So far,Israeli officials have not formally responded publicly to Trump’s claims. However,it is often said “the U.S. government consistently voices israeli positions,” suggesting little opposition within Tel Aviv toward these terms.
