Yemeni Drone Strikes Strategic Ramon Airport in Negev + Video
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Shehab News Agency, Israeli media report a drone strike by Yemen on Ramon Airport in the Negev region of southern occupied territories.
Israeli users have shared images showing smoke rising from the airport following the Yemeni drone attack.
Some Israeli sources reported injuries resulting from the strike. The airport sustained damage and passengers were evacuated.
Channel 14 of Israeli television confirmed that firefighters were dispatched to Ramon Airport in southern occupied territories.
A spokesperson for the Israeli Air Force announced that airspace around Ramon Airport was closed and flights suspended.
israeli media, quoting a military source, stated that a Yemeni drone targeted the passenger terminal at Ramon Airport. The attack reportedly wounded two individuals.
Israel Hayom reported: “The passenger terminal at Ramon Airport was targeted.”
Channel 12 of Israeli television added that four drones were launched from Yemen; three were intercepted. The Israel Defense Forces acknowledged a fourth drone struck Ramon Airport.
The IDF also admitted no warning sirens sounded at the airport during the attack and investigations are underway regarding this failure.
Israeli Army Radio stated that since the assassination of Ansarullah officials in Sana’a,eight missiles and seven drones have been launched. The radio also confirmed failures in detection systems which failed to track or detect the Yemeni drones before they hit their target.
News outlets released new footage showing damage at ramon Airport near Eilat following impact by a Yemeni drone.
Eilat’s mayor told Yedioth Ahronoth: “A direct hit on Ramon Airport without prior warning is extremely concerning.” He added that ports remain closed and warned Houthis continue to pose threats to them.

Assaf Ramon Airport opened in 2019 about 11 kilometers north of Eilat. It is considered Israel’s second-largest airport after Ben Gurion International. Construction began after hostilities between Hamas and Israel in 2014 when an Israeli security committee claimed Ben Gurion faced security vulnerabilities against Palestinian resistance rockets during crises-prompting plans for expanding facilities like those at RamonAirport
