Trump’s View on a Possible US Invasion of Venezuela
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Fox News via Mehr News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the possibility of a military incursion into Venezuela today.
The president avoided providing a clear answer and instead relied on his usual vague remark.
when asked whether he intended to attack Venezuela, Trump responded: “You will find out later.”
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro recently stated that his country would resort to “armed resistance” if attacked.
He asserted that while Venezuela is still engaged in nonviolent struggle, any assault would prompt the entire population to react against aggression-whether local, regional, or national.
Maduro added: “No cocaine is produced in Venezuela. That is an American lie-just like the false claim about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, which was used as a pretext for invasion. They also lie about Caracas.”
This comes after Maduro announced mobilizing over eight million citizens as part of the “Bolivarian National Militias” amid rising tensions with Washington due to increased U.S. military presence in the Caribbean Sea.
The escalation followed deployment of american forces along caribbean coasts under the guise of combating Venezuelan drug cartels. in response, two Venezuelan F-16 fighters flew over a U.S. Navy destroyer operating in nearby waters.
