IAEA Board of Governors Quarterly Meeting Begins
Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, announced the start of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors’ quarterly meeting with an initial report from Director general Rafael Grossi, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency.
The meeting began on Monday and will continue through Friday. It will cover key issues including nuclear safety, implementation of safeguards agreements, and the agency’s scientific and research activities.
Ulyanov previously stated that Iran and its nuclear program would be central topics at this September session of the IAEA Board of Governors.
Diplomatic sources revealed that the Islamic Republic of Iran plans to submit a draft resolution at the upcoming IAEA General Conference condemning attacks on nuclear facilities as unacceptable. These sources added that the document is currently being prepared and will be presented at this session. Ulyanov confirmed this intention in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).
