Complete Destruction of 50 Buildings in Gaza in One Day Forces Mass Displacement
The Israeli military intensified heavy bombardments of Gaza City neighborhoods on Monday, resulting in dozens of casualties, according to al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency. Meanwhile, Gaza Civil Defense recorded the destruction of over 50 buildings yesterday and reported an increasing number of children dying due to the ongoing siege in the Gaza Strip.
Hospital sources in Gaza confirmed that as early Monday, 21 people have been killed by Israeli military strikes, with 14 fatalities occurring within Gaza City.
A source at Al-Shifa Medical Complex announced that two people were killed and several others wounded during an airstrike targeting a residential apartment building in the al-Rimal neighborhood west of Gaza City at dawn.
Ambulance and emergency services reported injuries among Palestinians following an air raid on a home in the al-Yarmouk area of the city.
The Israeli army also resumed shelling the headquarters of the Al-Jazeera Sports Club shelter for displaced persons located downtown. the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that 15 individuals-including children-were wounded during this strike.
Separately, Israeli Radio reported heavy bombardment targeting al-Nasr and Sheikh Radwan districts in Gaza City.
the civil defense confirmed complete destruction of more than 50 buildings yesterday. Over 100 additional structures sustained partial damage; many were high-rise buildings housing thousands of residents.
Mohammed Basal,spokesperson for Gaza Civil Defense,stated that “the Israeli military deliberately targets buildings surrounded by tents housing displaced families and shelter centers,” resulting in over 200 tents being destroyed due to adjacent building bombings.
He added that airstrikes have also damaged remaining mosques and playgrounds throughout Gaza City. Basal explained these tactics aim to enforce a policy of forced displacement through systematic bombardment.
According to Al Jazeera, Israel continues demolishing entire residential blocks across Gaza City while targeting remaining towers and multi-story buildings. This strategy prepares ground for imminent ground assault under “Operation Gideon’s Chariots II.”
