Spain Recalls Ambassador from the Occupied Territories
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, media outlets have reported that spain has recalled its ambassador from the occupied Palestinian territories for consultations.
Al Jazeera, quoting Reuters, reported that Madrid considers Israel’s ban on two members of the Spanish government entering the occupied Palestinian territories unacceptable.
The Spanish government stated: Madrid rejects accusations of antisemitism. The Prime Minister’s decisions concerning the inhumane conditions in Gaza and the West Bank are part of our commitment to peace and human rights. These actions respond to the feelings held by a majority of our citizens.
The statement added: We call on Israel to end its occupation of Gaza and the West Bank, cease violence against Palestinian civilians, and lift its blockade on Gaza.
