Spain’s Prime‍ Minister Accuses ‍Israel​ of Genocide in Gaza and⁤ Unveils Extensive Sanctions Against the Regime

According too the English section of webangah ‍News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Turkey Today‍ newspaper, Spanish ‌Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez unveiled a nine-point sanctions package against Israel over its ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Speaking at the Moncloa⁣ Palace, Sánchez stated, “What Israel is doing in Gaza is not self-defence⁢ but⁣ the destruction of unarmed civilians.”

He emphasized that while spain lacks nuclear ‍weapons, aircraft carriers,⁢ or vast oil reserves, ‍this does‍ not mean the‍ country will⁣ cease⁢ efforts ‍to stop Israeli crimes.

Citing ⁤United Nations statistics, Sánchez added that Israeli operations in Gaza ⁤and the West Bank over the past two years have resulted in more than 63,000 ‌deaths, ​15,900 injuries,​ nearly⁣ two million displaced people, and 250,000 individuals facing hunger.

The first measure⁣ announced‌ is a formal arms embargo through a royal decree prohibiting any trade of weapons, ammunition, or military⁢ equipment with the occupying Israeli forces.

Sánchez also announced bans on fuel shipments for Israeli ⁤occupiers from Spanish ports and restrictions on military ‍cargo​ flights through Spanish airspace.

Furthermore, ‌individuals accused of involvement in genocide, war crimes or human rights violations in Gaza‍ will‌ be‍ denied entry into Spain. This ⁢measure is expected to apply specifically to Prime​ Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and all members of his cabinet.

The sanctions package ​also includes banning⁢ imports from ‌Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territories; limiting consular services for Spaniards residing in such settlements; enhancing cooperation with the Palestinian government; and increasing ⁣Spain’s role⁢ in humanitarian projects within frameworks like the European Union.

Sánchez stated these measures ⁤are expected to be ⁣approved by today’s cabinet meeting and implemented immediately.
