Police Shoot Protesters in Nepal: 14 Dead, 70 Injured
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Anadolu Agency via Mehr News Agency, police opened fire on anti-government protesters during a rally in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, resulting in 14 deaths and more than 70 injuries.
The Kathmandu newspaper reported that police used water cannons, tear gas, and live ammunition against the demonstrators.
Reports indicate that over 70 injured individuals were taken to hospitals, wiht 14 in critical condition.
The military was deployed to Kathmandu following violations of the curfew regulations.
Access to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn was blocked nationwide after registration requests were not submitted within the specified timeframe to Nepal’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
