Mahmoud Abbas Meets British Prime Minister in London
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting the Palestinian Wafa news agency, Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority, met wiht UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London for discussions.
The two sides reviewed recent developments in the occupied territories and bilateral relations between Palestine and the United Kingdom during their meeting.
Abbas praised London’s stance against settlement construction, settler violence, and policies aimed at annexing Jerusalem.
he also described Britain’s historic decision to recognize Palestine before the upcoming International Peace Conference in New York as “a corrective step addressing a historic injustice.” Abbas stressed that Palestine’s current priorities are an immediate and permanent end to war, unconditional humanitarian aid access to prevent genocide and famine, prisoner release, full withdrawal of occupying forces from Gaza, and reconstruction efforts.
Abbas emphasized the necessity of halting all Israeli regime aggressions against Palestinians and Islamic and Christian holy sites. he underscored that Gaza remains an inseparable part of palestine. With Arab and international support, Palestine will assume full responsibility for gaza’s future.
Expressing strong condemnation toward Hamas’s actions on October 7-reflecting his clear disapproval-Abbas stated that Hamas will have no role in future governance negotiations and must disarm fully.
The President reaffirmed commitment to a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In response, Prime Minister Starmer called for an immediate end to hostilities, release of all prisoners, expanded humanitarian deliveries into Gaza, and reiterated that only a two-state solution can ensure lasting peace and stability across the region.
