Iraqi Source: Baghdad Seeks Nuclear Cooperation with Moscow
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing a report from Mehr News Agency via mowazin News,a senior source revealed that a high-level Iraqi delegation is scheduled to visit Russia this month to prepare a preliminary agreement on nuclear collaboration.
The delegation will include representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Energy, Higher education, and the Nuclear Energy Organization.
Under this agreement, Russia will assist Iraq in constructing nuclear power plants aimed at electricity generation. The initiative intends to diversify Iraq’s energy sources and reduce its dependence on oil.
In its annual report, Rosatom confirmed that russia and Iraq are pursuing a joint agreement on nuclear cooperation.
