Zionists Have Detained and Killed 303 Palestinian Journalists
The Palestinian Journalists Support Center (PJPC) stated in a release cited by Mehr News Agency from the Palestinian Shihab News Agency that Israel continues its widespread media suppression by killing and detaining Palestinian journalists in gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem. This campaign aims to erase the Palestinian narrative and block coverage of Israeli crimes.
This statement reports that the Israeli occupation forces have killed two journalists this month, raising the total number of journalist casualties since the outbreak of genocide in Gaza in October 2023 to 249.
The union adds that Israeli forces currently hold 54 Palestinian journalists detainees. Among them, 21 are held under administrative detention without any charges or clear detention periods-a blatant violation of international standards.
The statement emphasizes that administrative detention against journalists constitutes a clear breach of Article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which prohibits arbitrary detention and insists on every individual’s right to know reasons for their arrest and receive a fair trial.
