Joint Statement by the U.S. and Three European Nations on Iran
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, reported that during the IAEA Board of Governors meeting held in Vienna, the U.S.and the European troika read a statement published on the UK Foreign Office website. The statement condemned Iran’s decision to suspend cooperation with the IAEA starting June 2025 as “concerning and unacceptable,” disregarding the agency’s failure and irresponsibility regarding illegal attacks by the U.S. and Israel on Iran’s nuclear facilities during the 12-day imposed war.
The statement added that “from June 13, 2025, IAEA inspectors’ access to all Iranian nuclear sites except Bushehr power plant has been restricted, and Iran has yet to submit any legal reports about its nuclear activities.”
While previously claiming destruction of highly enriched uranium stockpiles in Iran following strikes on nuclear plants by Israel and U.S., the IAEA now alleges that “highly enriched uranium stocks in Iran have remained unaccounted for over two and a half months without audits, with no facts obtained by the agency.”
The U.S. and three European countries did not mention that military attacks on nuclear facilities violate international law but insisted that “recent attacks on some nuclear sites cannot justify suspension of cooperation; Iran must immediately resume full implementation of its safeguards agreement.”
In their joint statement, America, France, Germany, and Britain declared immediate collaboration essential for reaching a sustainable agreement addressing nuclear concerns. They welcomed recent arrangements between Iran and the agency but warned: “If iran does not fully resume cooperation before the next board meeting, we stand ready to take necessary decisions.”
