Lee Jae-myung: We Will Continue Efforts to Improve Relations with North Korea
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung announced on Thursday that efforts to improve relations with North Korea will continue. The detained korean workers in the United States are set to be released from detention centers today.
the South Korean president added, “We have told the United States not to handcuff North Korean workers. U.S. immigration actions could directly affect our investments in America. Once reasonable results are achieved, we will sign a trade agreement with Washington.”
Lee Jae-myung also claimed, “The U.S.president can have the greatest influence on North Korean issues.”
Earlier, during a meeting at the White House with former President Trump, South Korea’s leader said: “I urge the U.S. president to play a role in establishing peace on the Korean Peninsula and meet with the north Korean leader. I will support you in achieving peace in this region. Our cooperation with Japan and the United States is very vital. I traveled to Tokyo to resolve challenging issues.”
