UK Prime Minister Removes London’s Ambassador to the United States
The UK ambassador to the United States was removed from his post due to his connection with convicted American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing The Guardian.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced on Thursday that he had dismissed Peter Mandelson, the UK ambassador to Washington, following revelations about Mandelson’s links with Epstein.
Mandelson, who was appointed in February and played a key role in UK-US relations, was forced out after leaked emails revealed that his friendship with Epstein continued even after Epstein faced corruption allegations.
This progress occurred less than a week before former US President Donald Trump’s second official visit to the UK, reported Politico.
