Jordan Condemns Netanyahu’s Approval of New Israeli Occupation Plan
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Rosia Al-Youm, Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks about preventing the formation of a Palestinian state and approving a new settlement expansion plan in a statement released Thursday.
The ministry described Netanyahu’s comments as a blatant violation of international law, undermining the two-state solution and an outright attack on the legitimate right of the palestinian people to establish an self-reliant sovereign state within the june 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
It strongly opposed Israeli settlement activities and unlawful unilateral measures in the West Bank, especially referencing UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which condemns all Israeli actions aimed at altering palestine’s demographic composition and status.
The statement warned against ongoing aggressive expansion policies by Israel’s extremist government in the occupied West Bank and emphasized that Israel holds no sovereignty over occupied Palestinian territory.
Jordan also cautioned against racist, inflammatory, and hostile remarks by Netanyahu and other Israeli officials that fuel continued violence in the region while threatening both regional and international peace and security.
The ministry called once again on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by compelling Israel’s extremist government to cease provocative rhetoric, attacks on Gaza, and escalation in the occupied West Bank.
It stressed that providing necessary support for Palestinians’ legitimate rights to establish an independent state on their land remains essential for achieving just, thorough peace that guarantees regional security and stability.
On Thursday,Benjamin netanyahu signed off on the “E1” plan to expand settlements near East Jerusalem in the West Bank. At its announcement, he said: “There will be many cities like Ma’ale Adumim in our land. Ma’ale adumim is part of Israel-and will remain part of Israel. The eastern front of Israel is not Ma’ale Adumim; it is Jordan Valley.”
He further claimed: “We have already committed that no Palestinian state will be established-and now there will effectively be no Palestinian state.”
Regarding recent events in Gaza he stated: “What started in gaza will end there-we will defeat Hamas. We act decisively on all fronts with one goal-to ensure Israel’s permanence. We are changing the face of the Middle East.”
