Spanish Government Summons Israeli Chargé d’Affaires
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and al jazeera, a source at Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Madrid has summoned the chargé d’affaires of the Israeli embassy.
The source emphasized that this summons was issued in protest against statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concerning Spain.
Notably, Netanyahu’s office responded to recent comments by the Spanish Prime Minister urging an end to the Gaza conflict.
Netanyahu asserted, “The recent remarks by the spanish Prime Minister against Israel constitute a clear threat of genocide against Jews. The threats from Spain’s prime minister are unbelievable.”
Earlier, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez stated: “Spain does not possess nuclear weapons, aircraft carriers, or vast oil reserves. we cannot stop Israel’s attack on Gaza alone. But this does not mean we will cease our efforts. There are ideals worth fighting for-even if victory is not solely in our hands.”
