New Details Emerge on Israeli Attack Near Qatar: Some Missiles Fired Over Saudi Arabia
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, reported that The Wall Street Journal stated Israel used long-range missiles in its attack on Qatar and avoided flying through Arab airspace.
According to the report, Israeli jets launched missiles from the Red Sea into space, giving U.S. forces little time to intercept them.
The Wall Street Journal further noted that eight F-15s and four F-35s flew toward the Red Sea before firing missiles over Saudi Arabia en route to Doha.
The newspaper claimed Israel informed the U.S. military only minutes before the attack and initially provided limited details about the target.
Several U.S.officials told The Wall Street Journal that Israel had not alerted Washington until moments before striking Hamas targets. They added that although initial intelligence was vague, American space-based infrared sensors detected missile launches and confirmed doha as their destination.
The Wall Street Journal asserted that “none of this information arrived in time for the Trump administration to prevent the attack.”
On Tuesday, Israel bombed Hamas leaders’ location in Doha during a meeting held to discuss former U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal for advancing negotiations.
While no Hamas leaders were injured in the strike, several members of Hamas and civilians-including a Qatari citizen-were killed.
