Powerful 7.4-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Eastern Russia
The United States Geological Survey reports a powerful earthquake off Russia’s eastern coast.
According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Associated Press, the United States Geological Survey confirmed a 7.4-magnitude earthquake near Russia’s eastern coast in the Kamchatka region.
The centre reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was at a depth of 39 kilometers, approximately 112 kilometers east of Petropavlovsk in Kamchatsky.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning System briefly issued an alert for a possible tsunami triggered by the quake but later canceled it.
