Peskov: Moscow-Kyiv Talks Have Halted

The Kremlin spokesman announced a “pause” in ⁢peace talks between ‌Moscow ⁤and Kyiv due⁣ to warnings from‍ the Ukrainian president and ‍increased NATO military presence on the eastern front.

Dmitry Peskov said peace negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv have effectively stalled following recent remarks by ukrainian ⁢President Volodymyr ‌zelensky, who claimed‍ that Russian President Vladimir Putin is steadfast to seize all of Ukraine.

Meanwhile,‍ former U.S. President Donald ‍Trump stated that his patience with Putin is running out. NATO has also declared plans to strengthen its eastern front after Russian drones were shot down in Polish airspace.

Peskov commented, “Our negotiators had ⁣opportunities to communicate through channels. But currently, it’s more accurate to describe this as a ‘pause’⁤ in⁤ negotiations.”

he added, “One cannot simply ⁣view the situation through ‍rose-colored glasses and expect immediate results ⁣from the ⁢negotiation process.”

This fragile diplomatic halt comes as the Russian military conducts large-scale exercises with ‍one of its⁣ main⁣ allies, Belarus.

Despite Trump urging ⁣both parties toward direct talks and welcoming Putin in Alaska, no notable progress has emerged toward ending the war in Ukraine that began in February 2022.

Earlier, during a conference in Kyiv, Zelensky emphasized that the West should not trust⁣ Putin. He said: “Putin’s goal is to occupy all of‍ Ukraine irrespective of what he tells others. It is clear that ⁤his war machine operates ⁤at such speed it ‌simply cannot be stopped unless he fundamentally changes his personal objectives.”
