Warning Issued on ISIS Underground Cells in Iraq
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing al-Maloumeh, Mukhtar Al-Mousawi, an Iraqi parliament member, emphasized that Iraq’s fight against underground ISIS cells is not over.
He added that 2025 will witness the best security stability in Iraq compared to previous years, but this does not mean the war on terrorism has ended.
Al-Mousawi stated that underground groups affiliated with ISIS are carrying out plans orchestrated by foreign countries inside Iraq. Security forces have dismantled ten of the most perilous ISIS cells this year and eliminated their leaders.
He further stressed the need to prioritize border security, especially along Syria’s shared borders, as this is key to preventing terrorists from penetrating deeper into Iraq.
