Mossad’s Position on Tel Aviv’s Operation Against Qatar
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Ma’ariv reported that Mossad’s assessments indicate that carrying out assassination operations against Hamas leaders in Qatar could jeopardize an agreement for prisoner release.
The report states that the mossad chief believed the consequences of executing an attack in Qatar could outweigh its benefits.
It also notes that the Mossad head viewed Hamas’s response to a ceasefire proposal as a potential path toward reaching an agreement.
Yesterday, The Washington Post cited two Israeli sources reporting that Mossad had planned a ground operation inside Qatar aimed at assassinating Hamas leaders residing there. However, despite these plans, Mossad ultimately decided not to proceed with the operation.
