Cycling Races Halted in Spain to Protest Zionist Participation + Video
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, the final stage of Spain’s Vuelta cycling race was stopped this afternoon, Sunday, September 15.
The race was suspended in Madrid as cyclists entered the city amid clashes between police and pro-Palestinian demonstrators.
Following these confrontations, organizers halted the concluding leg of the Vuelta.
Footage broadcast by local channel RTVE showed protesters removing metal barriers and appearing at multiple points along the course. They chanted slogans condemning what they described as crimes committed by Israeli occupiers.
Over a thousand police officers had been deployed ahead of time to coincide with cyclists’ arrival in Madrid for this 21-day event. Despite their presence, authorities where unable to control rising anger among supporters of oppressed Palestinians.
The protesters expressed strong opposition to Israeli teams competing on Spanish soil amidst ongoing alleged atrocities against Palestinians. They demanded that the race be canceled due to these concerns.
