Iraqi MP: Popular Mobilization Forces Alter Military Balance
An Iraqi parliamentarian highlighted the crucial role of the Popular Mobilization Forces in the country.
Mukhtar al-Moussawi, a representative of the Coordination Framework coalition in Iraq’s parliament, emphasized that the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) serve as a vital security pillar protecting the country’s stability, according to webangah News Agency.
He added that they guarantee lasting security within Iraq, noting that neither the Ministries of Interior nor Defense can operate effectively without their support.
al-moussawi stated that the PMF successfully altered military dynamics and thwarted ISIS plans. These forces have played a important role in campaigns to liberate Iraq from terrorists since 2014.
He concluded by stressing that due to their sacrifices,legislation governing these forces must be passed by parliament.
