Annual General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency Begins in Vienna
The 69th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) opened today, Monday, with senior representatives from member countries convening at the agency’s headquarters in Vienna, Austria, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency.
Running through Friday, September 19, this conference stands as one of the IAEA’s most notable annual events. Ambassadors and senior officials from member states will examine a broad range of topics concerning the agency’s activities and budget.
Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, is attending on behalf of the Islamic Republic. Before traveling to Vienna, he stated: ”This year’s IAEA General Conference presents a valuable prospect that we must seize to express our country’s positions and more vigorously address this form of double standards.”
The 69th regular session runs from September 15 to 19, 2025 (24 to 28 Shahrivar), taking place at the Vienna International Center (VIC) in Austria’s capital.
