Basent: New Round of US-China Talks Scheduled in About a Month
According to teh English section of webangah News Agency, quoting RIA Novosti via mehr News Agency, U.S.Treasury Secretary Scott Besant told reporters on Monday after meeting with the Chinese delegation in Spain that Washington and Beijing held very productive talks. He confirmed they agreed to hold a new round of trade negotiations in about one month.
The Anadolu Agency reported that Besant added they made significant progress on technical details related to tariffs. Regarding the overall agreement, he noted, “Our Chinese counterparts have presented very tough demands; we will see if we can reach an agreement.”
Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant led this latest round of trade talks on Sunday in Madrid, Spain.
This progress comes as the tariff ceasefire established in Stockholm is set to expire this November.
