Russia: Issues Related to Iran’s Nuclear Program Will Be Resolved Diplomatically
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Tass News Agency via Mehr News Agency, Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom, said on Monday that this year’s International Atomic energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference has become “highly political.”
Likhachev added that events in the Middle East have left virtually no opportunity for any speaker to assess or comment on the attacks-referring to the illegal and illegitimate U.S. aggression against Iran-and Iran’s nuclear program.
Regarding Iran’s nuclear program,Alexey Likhachev stated that resolving related issues is only achievable through diplomatic channels.
He further noted Moscow’s support for the September 9 agreement between Iran and the IAEA on restoring agency safeguards.
The Russian official emphasized that this agreement exemplifies how even complex challenges can be resolved through dialog. Russia is prepared to engage in any way possible to seek negotiated solutions based on international law and consistent with Article 4 of the NPT.
