Photo Released of U.S. Secretary of State Digging Near Al-Aqsa Mosque

The release of a photo showing the U.S.Secretary of State during a symbolic excavation near Al-Aqsa Mosque has sparked controversy.

According to the English section of webangah News⁤ Agency, citing Mehr News Agency⁢ and Russia Today, an image has surfaced depicting ⁤U.S. Secretary of State‌ Marco Rubio conducting a symbolic excavation beneath the Silwan area near Al-Aqsa Mosque during ⁤his visit to‍ the‌ occupied ⁣territories.

in the photo, Israeli⁢ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara are also present.

The Israeli Ynet website reported that ⁢Rubio’s main purpose in ⁣visiting the occupied territories was to participate in the inauguration⁣ ceremony of a tunnel excavated under Silwan near Al-Aqsa Mosque. The tunnel‍ is said to have been dug as part of Zionist plans to Judaize areas adjacent to Al-Aqsa.⁤ It extends approximately 600 meters, starting from southern Wadi hilweh neighborhood in Silwan and ending near the Western Wall‌ (Buraq Wall) west‌ of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The⁢ primary⁢ objective behind these extensive underground excavations by ‍Israel is ⁢reportedly to ⁣demolish this ⁣sacred site and build a temple in⁣ its ‍place.
