Several Explosions Heard in Damascus, Syria
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Masirah network, Syrian sources reported hearing several unidentified explosions around the outskirts of Damascus.
The cause and origin of these explosions remain unknown.
Some unofficial sources claimed that an area on the outskirts of Damascus was targeted by Israeli fighter jets.
So far, official Syrian sources have not responded to reports about these explosions.
This is not the first time in recent months that Syrian sources have reported explosions inside Syrian territory.
Following Bashar al-Assad’s fall last year, Israel increased its activity in syria. In its initial move, it violated the 1974 agreement with Damascus and occupied parts of southern Syria.
The 1974 Syria-Israel Agreement, known as the Disengagement Agreement between forces or the syria-Israel disengagement accord, was signed after the Yom Kippur War (1973) between both parties.
This agreement was brokered by the United States under United Nations supervision. Its main purpose was to establish a buffer zone between Syrian and israeli forces on the Golan Heights.
