US and France Repeat Baseless Claims Against Iran
The U.S. Department of State announced that Secretary of State Mark Rubio spoke by phone with his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barou to discuss various issues, including Iran, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera.
During the call, the two foreign ministers repeated their allegations concerning Iran’s peaceful nuclear program and emphasized their commitment to preventing Iran from developing or acquiring nuclear weapons.
These claims come despite the Islamic Republic of Iran’s consistent stance that it has never pursued nuclear weapons and only seeks nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. A recent report by the international Atomic Energy Agency also confirmed that Iran lacks the means to produce nuclear weapons.
