Bolsonaro Hospitalized Due to Seizure and Severe Hiccups
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and France 24, Jair Bolsonaro, former president of Brazil who was convicted last week for attempting a coup, was hospitalized due to medical complications and severe hiccups while under house arrest.
Flavio Bolsonaro, son of the 70-year-old former president, told reporters that his father experienced a nervous attack leading to intense hiccups lasting about ten seconds. This caused shortness of breath followed by nausea. Bolsonaro was admitted to the hospital where he will remain under observation overnight. The Brazilian senator added that “his condition is stable but does not look good.”
Bolsonaro underwent several surgeries in recent years due to complications from a stabbing attack during his 2018 election campaign.
He served as Brazil’s president from 2019 until 2023 and spent twelve hours in surgery during his latest procedure related to that incident.
A panel of judges from brazil’s supreme Court last week found him guilty of conspiring for a coup following his defeat in the 2022 presidential election against luiz inácio Lula da Silva, the current president. Bolsonaro was sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison.
