Major Military Exercise Held in Greenland Without U.S. Participation

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Reuters via mehr News Agency, Denmark has excluded the U.S. ⁢military from participating in Arctic⁣ Light 2025, the largest military exercise in modern​ Greenland’s history.

Søren Andersen,Denmark’s Arctic commander,confirmed that although U.S.Secretary of Defense ‍Pete Hegseth was invited to attend the exercise, no American military units were requested‍ to⁣ join the drills.

Andersen ​told Reuters: “We cooperate with our colleagues ‌at the U.S. Pituffik Space Base, but ‌they ‌were ​not invited along with any units for this exercise.”

A ⁤spokesperson for the U.S. Embassy in ⁣Copenhagen stated:⁤ “While we are not participating in this particular​ exercise, we continue our strong military cooperation with the Kingdom of Denmark and other Arctic allies.”
