Unprecedented Israeli Attacks on the West Bank Result in 1,300 Arrests
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Israeli army troops launched widespread raids across several West Bank cities in recent days. These operations, part of a collective punishment policy against Palestinian residents by the occupying forces, resulted in approximately 1,300 arrests in Tulkarm alone over just two days.
In Qalqilya, Israeli forces repeatedly stormed the city overnight. They arrested several Palestinian workers attempting to enter israel for labor and detained one individual during a raid on his home in the Old City.
In Nablus, soldiers raided multiple villages including Sarra and Al Naqura and arrested Palestinians there. They also targeted Qalandiya refugee camp and Kufr Aqab near Jerusalem. In Hebron and it’s surrounding villages in southern West Bank, broad arrests were carried out as well.
The israeli army also raided Beit Rima and Kafr Ni’ma villages near ramallah, inspecting homes and agricultural land.
In Tulkarm city of northern West Bank, occupying forces stormed Deir al-Ghusun town north of Tulkarm after two Israeli soldiers were injured on September 11 by an improvised explosive device targeting a military vehicle nearby.
Faisal Salama, deputy governor of Tulkarm, stated that the Israeli army is enforcing collective punishment aimed at humiliating citizens through long queues for public marches while holding some for rapid interrogation before release.
data from the Tulkarm Media Committee indicate that during their recent assault on two refugee camps alone, more than 600 houses were completely demolished wiht around 2,573 others sustaining partial damage.
The Palestinian Government Communications Office reported that amid ongoing genocide in Gaza as October 7-with over 65,062 killed including many women and children-the Israeli military has intensified its assaults throughout the West Bank including East jerusalem. These attacks have resulted in at least 1,042 Palestinians killed and about 10,160 wounded alongside more than 19,000 arrests.
the siege-induced famine combined with israel’s war effort have claimed another 428 Palestinian lives-including at least 146 children-amongst Gaza’s civilian population.
