Trump and Starmer Center Talks in London on Gaza and Ukraine
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting al Jazeera through Mehr News Agency, US President Donald Trump met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on the second day of his trip to britain.
At the end of their meeting, Starmer affirmed continued cooperation with the US on the gaza situation. He stated that britain is working alongside America to end the humanitarian crisis in the Middle East, allow aid deliveries, and secure prisoner releases. Starmer also noted discussions with Trump on ways to increase defensive support for ukraine.
Trump described US-UK relations as unparalleled globally during a press conference following their talks. He said he was pleased that Britain was “the first country” with which they signed a trade agreement and announced a historic pact aimed at boosting technological growth. According to Trump, his visit resulted in deals worth $350 billion.
He added that America’s economic performance is steadily improving and highlighted attracting $17 trillion in investments.
Starmer reiterated efforts alongside the US to unite Tel Aviv and neighboring regions around a comprehensive plan promoting peace and security for both Palestinians and Israelis.
Trump claimed that Russian president Vladimir Putin “disappointed” him but insisted he is working hard to resolve conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine. Despite being a primary arms supplier fueling violence against Gaza’s population, Trump called ending wars “a tough task.” He acknowledged Israel-Gaza conflict complexities but emphasized ongoing engagement.
The former president noted that America sells significant quantities of weapons to NATO allies while providing $350 billion in military aid specifically for Ukraine.
In statements critics call misleading given ongoing intelligence and military cooperation with Israel’s regime, Starmer condemned conditions in Gaza as unacceptable and stressed urgent delivery of aid into the territory.
He further mentioned recognizing Palestine as part of a package aimed at shifting from today’s dire situation towards a two-state solution framework-a goal Britain hopes will restore stability from current horrors.
Meanwhile, Trump overlooked Gaza’s severe humanitarian crisis by demanding immediate release of Israeli prisoners detained there and called for halting hostilities in Gaza entirely.
The former president highlighted that “the situation in Gaza” remains one of few points where he disagrees sharply with Starmer.
He also renewed criticisms against President Joe Biden’s administration by alleging Venezuela opened its prisons under Biden’s watch and transferred inmates into the United States unlawfully.
The American leader claimed he has resolved inflation issues along with rising energy prices domestically. Additionally, he asserted no illegal border crossings occurred within the last three months during his oversight period.
