UN Envoy to Syria Resigns Citing Personal Reasons

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Geir Pedersen, the UN envoy to Syria, ‍stated that he resigned for personal reasons.

He emphasized the need for full international support ‍to achieve progress in Syria.He also described Israel’s actions in Syria⁢ as harmful and damaging.

Pedersen highlighted that Israeli interference undermines the transitional process in Syria and called on Israel to halt its involvement immediately.

He added that Israel operates everywhere with impunity. He urged ⁢Israel to stop bombing Syrian territory and withdraw from the ⁤areas it ‍occupies ‌within Syria.

The UN envoy warned that incidents along the⁤ Syrian coast and in Suwayda must not be repeated, as ⁤they pose a‍ threat to the transition process.
