Trump: Licenses of Any Network Covering Negative News About Me Will Be Revoked
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency adn russia-alyum, President Donald Trump threatened to revoke the license of any network that broadcasts negative news about him, just one day after ABC suspended comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s show.
On his flight back from London, Trump commented on broadcasting networks: “They give me nothing but bad publicity or bad media coverage. I mean, they get licenses and I think maybe it’s time those licenses are revoked.”
The late-night program Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which aired nightly at 11:35 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC and featured celebrities from athletes and musicians to comedians and philanthropists alongside comedy sketches and a live band, has been suspended indefinitely. Reports indicate the suspension was due to the host’s remarks linking Charlie Kirk’s alleged killer with the “Make America Great Again” movement.
On Wednesday evening, trump praised ABC’s decision via social media and added: “Two other comedians on this network-Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers from NBC-should also be taken off air.”
Trump told reporters: “If we look back, as one said, they haven’t welcomed any governor for years. All they do is criticize everything that Trump needs to do. They have licenses but don’t have permission [to operate like this].”
