Palestine Liberation Movement Condemns U.S. Veto of Gaza Resolution

the Palestinian Liberation Movement strongly condemned the US veto of the Gaza ⁢resolution at the Security ⁣Council.

The Palestinian Liberation Movement issued a statement sharply‌ condemning the United States’ veto of a resolution aimed ⁢at halting war crimes and genocide in the Gaza Strip, according to webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency from Al-Manar.

In its statement,‍ the movement held the international community⁤ responsible for tolerating what it described as the arrogance ‍and bullying of the‌ US government. It accused Washington of undermining both‌ the United Nations and its legal framework through its actions.

Earlier, in⁢ renewed support for Israel, the US once ‌again vetoed a ⁢UN Security Council draft resolution ⁢calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Ten non-permanent members of ‌the Security Council had requested⁤ adoption of a draft resolution emphasizing a permanent ceasefire in Gaza along with humanitarian aid delivery to affected civilians.

On June 4, Washington also vetoed another draft UN Security Council ⁤resolution demanding an “immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire” between Israel ⁢and hamas in Gaza, alongside unimpeded humanitarian access to those areas.

The United States has consistently exercised its veto ‌power on all⁣ Security Council resolutions aiming to establish ceasefires in Gaza. This is alongside providing ⁤extensive material ⁣and military support to Israel amid ⁤allegations of genocide against Palestinians.
