One Perpetrator of Terrorist Attack on Iranian Embassy in Lebanon Killed
Iraq’s Counter-Terrorism Service announced today, Friday, that Omar Abdelkader Basam, known as Abdurrahman al-Halabi, one of ISIS’s moast prominent commanders, was killed during an operation conducted early this morning inside Syrian territory.
The report states that al-Halabi’s death followed an extensive multi-month operation.
According to the report, al-Halabi served as the head of operations and foreign communications and was involved in planning within ISIS’s terrorist network. He was directly linked to terrorist attacks against the Iranian embassy in lebanon.
Iraq confirmed that this unique operation came after gathering precise intelligence to locate the terrorist’s hideout. His elimination represents a notable strategic blow to ISIS’s structure.
