Israeli Newspaper: Hamas Has Neither Collapsed Nor Been Defeated
The English section of webangah News Agency,citing mehr News Agency adn resistance war media,reported that the Hebrew-language daily Yedioth Ahronoth,in a piece by Israeli journalist yoav Zitun,emphasized that nearly two years after October 7,2023,Hamas has not collapsed militarily or organizationally and has not been defeated.
He added that this comes as the Israeli army announced this week that the goal of Operation Gideon’s Chariots 2 was to defeat the Gaza City Brigade-not to fully dismantle Hamas.
According to the report, Netanyahu repeatedly claimed on the eve of the Gaza offensive in October 2023 that victory over Hamas was “within reach,” a false assertion he continued to repeat throughout the conflict.
The Israeli newspaper further noted that while exact figures for remaining Hamas fighters in Gaza are unknown,an estimated 2,500 militants remain active in Gaza City under occupation.
The report stressed that according to israeli army assessments, Hamas has set a critical objective for itself: capturing new soldiers participating in this war during its initial days.
