Pentagon to Halt Security Aid to Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing reuters via Mehr News Agency, Pentagon officials met with a group of European diplomats in late August and delivered a stern message: the United States plans to reduce certain security aid to Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia-all NATO members bordering Russia.
David B. Kerr,a Pentagon official, told the group that Europe should rely less on the United States. During Donald TrumpS presidency, the U.S. military will shift its focus toward other priorities such as homeland defense.
This comes amid previous European claims regarding U.S. assistance linked to a recent drone incident in Poland.
Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations based in Vienna, emphasized that Poland’s Ministry of defense is not ready for dialog with Moscow about the recent drone event.
Ulyanov wrote on his Telegram channel: “The Russian Ministry of Defense has offered talks and consultations; Poland’s Ministry of Defense is not prepared. It appears this matter is either a provocation or misunderstanding which the Polish side does not wish to clarify.”
