New Fleet to Break Gaza Blockade Sets Sail Wednesday

While the Gaza blockade-breaking​ fleet known as⁣ “Sumud” continues its journey toward Gaza, another fleet has ‌set sail to break the blockade.

The English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Al-Mayadeen ‌via Mehr news ‍Agency, reported that the International Committee to Break the Gaza Blockade announced a new ⁣wave of blockade-breaking ships sailing as part of a newly formed fleet.

According to the report, ⁢while ‌the Sumud fleet is still en route to Gaza-with its number of vessels growing daily-the ‍committee emphasized that this new naval fleet will depart from Italy ​toward Gaza next Wednesday.

Yesterday, several ships affiliated with the Sumud⁢ fleet set off from off the coast‌ of Sicily, italy, ⁣after weathering a storm.

Last Friday, organizers of the sumud fleet announced that its thirteenth ship out of 23 had departed from Tunisia toward Gaza. This⁣ effort⁣ is part of‍ a global initiative aiming to break an 18-year Israeli siege ⁤on Gaza.

Nearly 50 vessels linked to⁢ the Sumud fleet have‌ been sailing toward the Gaza Strip as last‍ Sunday. These ships departed from⁤ ports in Tunisia, Italy, Greece, and Libya. In addition, several ships ​left ​Barcelona port ​in Spain earlier this month. The vessels carry medical and food supplies along with ⁢activists representing more than 40⁣ countries worldwide.
