Macron: Palestinian Embassy to Open After Release of Israeli Prisoners
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Qatar’s Al Jazeera network, French President Emmanuel Macron stated in an interview with CBS on Sunday that he will announce the recognition of the State of Palestine tomorrow, emphasizing France’s commitment to peace and security for all in the region.
Macron added that France will not open a Palestinian embassy until Israeli captives held by Hamas are freed, calling this a fundamental condition. He said France is cooperating with Britain and regional authorities to propose deploying a United Nations-authorized international force in Gaza.
This comes after Agence france-Presse reported earlier that ten countries, including France, intend to recognize the Palestinian government during a conference scheduled in New York on monday.
