Netanyahu Holds Urgent Confidential Meeting Without Ben-Gvir and Smotrich

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that Benjamin ⁢Netanyahu held a secret meeting excluding his Interior Minister ‍and ⁣Finance Minister‍ to ​discuss responses to countries recognizing Palestine.

According to the‍ English ‍section of webangah News Agency,citing Russia ⁤Al-Youm,Israel’s Channel 12 ⁣announced on Sunday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened ⁢an​ urgent,confidential meeting without Interior Minister Ben Gvir and Finance Minister Smotrich. The session focused on how to respond to several countries officially recognizing the State of Palestine.

The Israeli outlet reported that during this special meeting,‍ Netanyahu emphasized ⁣the importance of full coordination with the Trump administration in⁢ addressing these recognitions.

Three countries-the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada-have​ officially recognized Palestine as a state.

A joint statement⁢ from Australia’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister declared: “Australia recognizes the legitimate and longstanding aspirations of ‍the Palestinian people for an independent state.today’s recognition reflects Australia’s enduring commitment to a two-state solution, which remains the only ‍path toward​ lasting peace and security.”

Canada’s Prime Minister’s Office (PMO)​ noted: “For decades,Canada’s commitment to [the two-state solution] has been based on the expectation ⁤that this outcome would‌ ultimately be achieved through a negotiated agreement.”

UK Prime Minister keir Starmer said: “Today we have recognized the State of Palestine to ‍revive‍ hope for peace.”
