Egypt’s Expansion of Military Bases in Sinai Terrifies Tel Aviv
A senior Israeli official told Tel Aviv television that the regime is worried about Egypt’s military movements, especially the expansion of military bases deep within the Sinai Desert and the establishment of flight corridors in the area.
The remarks come after reports that egypt warned both the United States and Israel about forced relocations of Palestinians from Gaza strip.
Earlier, American news website Axios revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented US Secretary of State Marco Rubio with a list detailing Egypt’s activities in Sinai during their meeting in Jerusalem last Monday.
A US official and two Israeli sources told Axios that Netanyahu urged then-President Donald Trump’s administration to pressure Egypt to reduce its recent military deployments on the Sinai Peninsula.
